News

This page will be used to keep you updated regarding new items added to the site, and planned developments.

We'll endeavour to add new material to the site as often as we can, so please keep checking back for updates.

28/04/11 - Just in time for the Royal Wedding, we've added to the website details of a possible Ormerod royal connection: The Plantagenet Link. The connection might not be directly to the House of Windsor, but Whitaker's History of Whalley indicates that Mary Haydock, who married Peter Ormerod in about 1561, was a direct descendant of Edward III. This would mean that all descendants of Peter and Mary Ormerod were also direct descendants of Edward III (of the House of Plantagenet) and earlier monarchs.

Details of these descendants can be found in the Descendants of Peter Ormerod (of Ormerod) pedigree chart.

Mary's ancestry can be found at Ancestors of Mary Haydock (née Haydock), which contains source details for the information contained within the pedigree chart.
